Here is what “NADCA” says about Inspections; You Know, ‘The Association for Inspection, Cleaning & Restoration of HVAC Systems’…Yeah, those guys.
The Group with all the credibility & authority when it comes to HVAC cleaning is NADCA. They have a very specific standard for HVAC Inspections & Cleaning; there are multiple certifications that a tech can hold via NADCA… There are continuing education requirements, Plus, a Code of Ethics…They a set of rules for Commercial HVAC Inspection & Cleaning, also. SO here is what I suggest…
#1) Do yourself a favor Only hire a certified professional. There are a lot of “blow & go” companies out there, but having a company that is working to Code of Ethics is a great way to make sure you receive Value and you get great performance from your HVAC system. Let’s face it, Half your energy bill is for HVAC & hot water heating.
#2) Get an Inspection, even if you have already turned on the furnace! The inside air handling unit / Furnace needs to be inspected and/or cleaned every year, to not only ensure that it is running properly, but also to see if there is mold or debris on the fins of your cooling coil. Once you switch over to “heat” any build up on the coil will burn off, stink horribly, & could cause severe allergic reactions. Better to have it looked at ahead of time than to have someone get an allergic reaction or asthma attack.

The Christmas season comes & goes, I could care less about the commercial aspect of Christmas but as I get older, the Family time, the gatherings and the memories are what ring true for Christmas, at least for me. I have memories from long ago of family traditions and celebrations with both parents gone now it is up to my generation to keep up the traditions and be an example of Christian living. No more ‘bah humbug’ for me; So “Merry Christmas”
Another thing is that living on the Gulf Coast for so long I don’t mind not having a “White Christmas”, after 38 years in Florida, I can live without the ice scrapper, the snow shovel & the Cold… I’m fine with some fresh Seafood; maybe, some raw or BBQ Oysters on the Xmas dinner menu. But that’s a hard sell for some of my crew!! HO HO HO
My best belated Christmas present will be the Denver Broncos making the playoffs again this year!
