If you’re not happy or not comfortable this time of year there are a couple things to think about …It is ‘The New Year’, so “Resolutions” are in order. However, if you’re just “not feeling it” you might have a humidity issue. Running the A/C (“ in cooling” mode) is the only way to  take out the moisture from the air (*unless you have a Dehumidifier ~ Whole House or Portable) and this is my point.  Not too many of us are running our Air Conditioning full time right now, however, this Southern climate is humid all year long, yeah, I know we get a few dry days during our “Winter”, but for the most part that moisture & humidity is always with us. Hence the comment about “COLD & CLAMMY”   The trend in the building industry is build it tight & ventilate it right; and if you have an older home or a home that was not built under the latest mechanical codes (like in the last 8 - 10 years) you may have some leaks where the dreaded humidity can get into the building… let’s review the basics of building science,

1) Every building has to breathe…or ventilate, nobody can live in a bubble !

2) Water moves from wet to dry; or from humid (outside) to less-humid (inside).   

3) Heat moves from warm to cold.

Every year I look at January as the fastest month of the year, we realize that the holidays are over, then all of a sudden there is this huge focus on a New Year, a clean slate and what we will do with this new start, then Poof, it’s gone, its over; we get launched into Feb and the race to Summer is on. So, the ‘stop & smell the Roses’ theory is great but not usually attainable, at least for January, without some serious focus. This is what you need, along with serious determination, to get your year off to a good start with the chances to accomplish your goals for the year. The key is to write ‘em down & look at em often Enough of this rambling; I’m reader, books, articles, magazines, blogs posts,

even podcasts… to be educated informed and have a creative spark. So find yourself a source of info and stick to it; daily, once a week or even every other; be consistent & your get the benefit of all the “brain-stretching” work!  I do have a confession, I’m addicted to crossword puzzles, that’s my brain-stretching! Daily effort and It works for me. Just look at this nifty “self-help” guide I’ve thrown together; the key is be consistent; It works, trust in the process!  The other GO TO for me is Music, that allows for seeds to grow in my  brain &  I feel like there have been some great music references or even rhythm recommendations to bring up the spirit! What is the name of the Muse for Music? Calliope. There is plenty of opportunity for music coming up. Look at the Vinyl Music Hall schedule!

My best belated Christmas present will be the Denver Broncos making the playoffs again this year!

So, let’s be inspired for a New Year & Listen to what your heart says, put in good info in your head and heart or just jam out to whatever sounds good!
