The typical situation I see is “if it ain’t broke let’s not fix it”… I think it would be great if that were our reality. However, there are planned maintenance (PM) programs all around us for a reason. The National Air Duct Cleaners Assn (NADCA) has a standard that is accepted internationally, and it states that we should look at our HVAC system, at a minimum of once a year. You know you take for granted the fact that when I click the T-stat on the House will cool down! If you use the “If It Ain’t Broke” idea, you might be unhappy on the hottest days coming up!! So as we approach our long A/C season we should be prepared for the season. We have a 21 point inspection that covers not only the duct & A/C equipment, but also the other things that can affect you & your families’ health and your wallet! Here are a few really important ones!
1) Comfort ~ this can be different for every home or family…we look at things like humidity, hot or cold rooms, air leaks & attic issues like low insulation and rodent damage…eew! These are the true measures of “Comfort” The Hot/Humid climate, in which we live, needs special attention with regard to the humidity. A de-hue will provide the maximum comfort in the indoor environment. I’ve got one at my house & I never want to live in another home in Florida without one!! So Call Me.
2) Cleanliness of the HVAC Equipment ~ Inside & outside; this includes any Mold/Microbial Growth or other problems that could affect your indoor environment this summer. Think “Gaps ,Cracks & Holes”
3) Health & Safety ~ these are items including “low levels” of Carbon Monoxide (exposure looks like flu symptoms), plus the potential for a fire in the dryer vent and other hazards, like flooding from a backed up A/C drain line. These are very important items for you to be aware of…
4) Duct Inspection; We are the local experts at duct systems, to include cleaning, sealing and proper air flow by air balancing. Don’t get stuck with new A/C equipment & then discover nobody ever looked at your old duct system. Today’s high efficiency A/C systems require that the air duct system be clean & leak-free…now more than ever. Do not be fooled into a false sense of security because “It Ain’t broke” My Grandma always said “an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure” …who wants to argue with Grandma’s words of wisdom? Not me.
